Since 2018, Khione Resources Limited recruits a summer seasonal crew to assist with the ongoing closure and remediation of the Snap Lake Mine site. Crews are flown into the Snap Lake Camp to carry out a variety of essential environmental and site restoration tasks, including water testing, water pumping, mine equipment removal, and general site cleanup.

Khione plays a key role in the Snap Lake remediation program through scarification and re-vegetation efforts across the mine site, helping to restore the area to its natural state. Our crews assist with excavation of former mining pits and facilities, equipment relocation, and site scarification to promote healthy re-vegetation. Environmental Technicians and Assistants support re-vegetation initiatives by planting seedlings, monitoring water quality and observing local wildlife to ensure the site is restored to its natural habitat.
